Acclaimed photographer Gideon Mendel has created a powerful installation using objects left behind which, along with other found items he has photographed, attempts to create an alternative portrait of the plight of the Jungle residents. By focusing on everyday objects like toothbrushes, playing cards, discarded trainers and children’s dolls he also attempts to wrest the overarching issue of displacement and forced migration away from the specific context and locale of the Eurotunnel.
